Mikhail Popov

Born in 1956. In 1979, Mr. Popov graduated from Leningrad State University, major in Russian Philology. In 1982, Mr. Popov defended his Candidate's dissertation “Morphonological Stage of the Loss of Reduced Vowels in Old Russian (based on manuscripts of the 14th and 15th centuries)”, dissertation advisor Prof. V. V. Kolesov; and in 2005, – his doctoral dissertation under the title “Russian Phonological Problems (Synchronic and Diachronic Aspects)”. Since 1982, Mr. Popov has taught at the Department of Russian Language, St. Petersburg State University.
