Born February 1, 1932. Graduated from the Russian Department, Faculty of Philology, Leningrad State University in 1955. Completed doctoral studies at the LSU Department of the History of Russian Literature in (research supervisor: Prof. I. P. Eremin). 1958–1963: – junior research associate in the Old Russian Literature Sector at the Institute of Russian Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences (supervisor: Academician D. S. Likhachev). Since 1964: a teacher at the LSU/SPbU Department of the History of Russian Literature (Assistant Lecturer, Associate Professor, Full Professor). In 1969 defended her doctoral dissertation "Life of Protopope Avvakum: (Creative History of the Text)". In 1997 defended her post-doctoral dissertation: "The 17th Century Russian Prose in the Context of Traditions". At present reads the following general courses: "History of Old Russian Literature", "Current Issues in Old Russian Literature Studies", the first part of the Department's collective course for Master students "Russian Literature Development: from 11th to 20th Century", as well as a number of special courses: "Medieval Russian Narratives", "Disputed and Current Issues in Old Russian Literature Studies". Gives the seminar "Old Russian Literature:11th/17th Centuries". For a number of years headed student archaeographic expeditions to the Russian North (to the Northern Dvina, Pinega, Pechora). A member of International Slavist Congresses and a number of international conferences (in Poland, Bulgaria, the USA). Delivered lectures and reports at the universities of Germany (Hamburg, Tübingen), the USA (Los Angeles, Boulder, Seattle), Italy (Udine), Georgia (Tbilisi), Armenia (Erevan). Active scientific relations with the Old Russian Literature Sector at the Institute of Russian Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences ("Pushkin House"), with the Siberian Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Academician N. N. Pokrovsky's Sector), with the Department of Old Russian Literature of Novosibirsk State University, with the Department of Russian Literature of Syktyvkar University.
