The archaic wake ritual at the new grave (karaulenye). Notions of the moments of obligatory commemoration connected with the “passage” stages (pagan and Christian interpretations). The funeral feast and commemoration after the funeral. The “forty days” (sorochiny) as the last opportunity to say goodbye. Established commemoration dates: general commemoration days - Saturdays of remembrance of the departed parents. Radonitsa ("Day of Rejoicing"). Whitsun eve, or the Spirits’ Saturday. St. Demetrius’ or Grandparents’ Saturday.
