Characteristics of the "literary" language notion. Object and subject of study. Literary language in the Middle Ages. Periodization of Russian literary language history
The lecture is focused on the main definitions of the course, the range of problems, its goals and objectives, main discussion points of modern concepts in the history of literary Russian. Such notions as "literary language", "norm" and "usage" are discussed. An insight is provided into the historicity and mobility of these notions in the Russian Middle Ages and in the culture of the Early Modern Period. Historical periodization of medieval literary Russian is provided.
