Revolutionary romanticism of the 1917/1920s Soviet art and architecture
Quite a number of various trends and tendencies are developing during the first post-revolutionary years. Romantic ambitions and hopes for the future - that was what brought them to life. This period is characterised by suprematism, constructivism, analytical art and the alternative art of "paper architecture" by traditional architects. Main phenomena and art events that took place during the first post-revolutionary years are studied: holiday decoration of towns and cities, implementation of the monumental propaganda plan and - as the major trend - the innovative achievements of the artists that paved the way for the 1920s avant-garde architecture to walk along soon.
