Formation of avant-garde trends in the Russian art of the pre-revolutionary decade. Their role in the development of an alternative to classical devices of architectural composition
This lecture is focused on the trends, theories and artists. Their views and works belonging to the Russian pre-revolutionary avant-garde are studied. General issues of the early 20th century avant-garde art are discussed and its style-forming influence on the formation of new architecture is analysed. Great pioneers of art are described: V. Kandinsky, K. Malevich, V. Tatlin et al. They implemented the values of avant-garde mentality in the practical art and architecture of the period that followed the 1917 October Revolution.
