Ivan Goncharov's Book "The Frigate Pallada" as compared to other Russian literary journeys of the 19th century
This lecture deals with a literary work that for a long time has not been an object of serious research. It shows how Goncharov's outwardly simple travelogue with descriptions of exotic countries turns out to be a highly complex literary work, revealing anthropological and social problems and themes that were important for the writer.
