Emergence of the Unified Russian State. Part 1
This lecture gives an account of the process of the unified state development in Rus'. This issue is studied in three aspects: end of the territorial unification of Russian lands, Yaroslavl, Rostov and Novgorod being annexed to Moscow; struggle for independence (breaking free from tribute-paying to the Horde); creation of the unified institutional power (the development of the Boyar Duma and the establishment of the executive branch of power). Ivan III and his Code of Law (Sudebnik) of 1497 are spoken about.
